"Report from advocacy groups urges tighter regulations for SUVs and pickup trucks"

May 02, 2024, Kitchener, Ontario

Posted by: Robert Deutschmann, Personal Injury Lawyer

As a personal injury lawyer, I see this disproportionate impact of collisions between large vehicles and trucks on the outcomes of those injured or killed in crashes.

C.R.A.S.H. is a coalition of 16 road safety and community groups across Ontario, including Advocacy for Respect for Cyclists, Bike Law Canada, and Walk Toronto, and they are working together to enhance road safety.

With the support of the University of Windsor's Centre for Cities and the University of Toronto’s Mobility Network, they've produced a comprehensive report and hosted a symposium in April 2024. The initiative aims to address the risks associated with pickups and large SUVs on roads, prioritizing pedestrian and cyclist safety, especially in light of pressing issues like the climate crisis. Their recommendations target federal, provincial, and municipal governments, advocating for measures to mitigate these risks effectively. Join the movement for safer roads!

Please take a moment to sign this petition if you think that we should be doing a better job of protecting vulnerable road users.
