Police Ticket Pedestrian Hit By Car

December 27, 2017, Kitchener, Ontario

Posted by: Robert Deutschmann, Personal Injury Lawyer

Police handed a pedestrian a ticket after he was struck and injured by a car in Halifax. In what is a fairly unusual case, the man was crossing at an unlit crosswalk and failed to activate the crossing lights.

The male was hit by the car at a marked crosswalk that had amber flashing lights which are manually activated on a Saturday evening. He entered the crosswalk without pressing the button to start the flashing lights, and in the dark a car hit him. The police and witnesses confirm that the lights which were in working order weren’t flashing at the time of the incident.

Fortunately, the man who is hospitalized is not in serious condition. He was ticketed with entering a crosswalk without activating the lights.
