Insurance is necessary protection

It is extremely important to review your car, life, house and disability insurance policies annually in order to ensure they meet the needs of you and your family, and your business in the event of an accident. As family situations change, and your financial needs fluctuate, your insurance benefits should be adjusted to reflect these changes.

Review your policies to ensure that they provide adequate coverage - the house you bought for $145,000 almost 25 years ago may be worth much more now. Review the limits of your LTD policy benefit payout to ensure that you will have enough money to live if you are disabled due to an accident. Car insurance benefits in Ontario have been reduced to very low dollar limits in the event you are injured.

Making sure that you understand the periods of waiting, benefit payment and maximum dollar limits of your policies BEFORE you need them will make your life better in the unfortunate event you require the benefits.

Your insurance agent will provide you with copies of your policies if you cannot find them at home, and should be able to talk you through any questions you have.
