Driverless cars continue to log a lot of miles and few accidents

Driverless cars may be all the rage now in the technology and automotive industry, but even these cars face the realities of the road. Reported in USA Today on July 2nd, Google cars have been making headlines as data about accident reports with the driverless cars have been posted online. It is reported that there has been about fourteen crashes.  Interestingly, the crashes have been attributable to fault on the part of the driver of the other car involved. The project, which has been running for six years and has put in an estimated two million miles in California, has been claimed to never have caused an accident. By law, all Google cars must have a driver behind the wheel present for safety. The cars have inspired the automaker company Ford to design its own driver-less cars.
