Dr. Diane Stoler tells her story of recovery from concussion and mild TBI in her new book.

July 17, 2014, Kitchener, Ontario

Posted by: Robert Deutschmann, Personal Injury Lawyer

Dr. Stoler has written a new book based on her academic and personal experience, about traumatic brain injury and concussion. In it she goes into detail about acquired and traumatic brain injury, the symptoms that people suffer, and the paths to recovery.

She speaks about the kinds of TBI (mild, moderate and severe), second impact syndrome and spends a great deal of time talking about treatment of concussion. Some of her most enlightening passages deal with the sense of mourning the ‘loss of self’ that many TBI victims have as they reflect on what they’ve become and who they were.

She also highlights the importance of brain injury associations and the work they do with TBI survivors and their families. If you are a TBI survivor, or you are dealing with TBI survivors then you may find Dr. Stoler’s insights and expertise of interest. The mix of the personal and professional information she provides is a good perspective for some people.
