Robert Deutschmann

Rob is a native of Waterloo, having attended high school at St. David’s and St. Jerome’s. He graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University where he earned his honours business degree (BBA). After working in private industry for 5 years, he entered law school and obtained his law degree, with distinction, from the University of Western Ontario in 1993.

Rob articled with a Kitchener law firm and was called to the bar on February 14, 1995 when he began his law practice. Rob’s practice is primarily dedicated to helping those individuals who have been hurt in an accident or become disabled. Rob practices in the area of personal injury law and disability law. Rob is a past Director of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, and a member of the Advocates Society, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Waterloo Law Association

Rob and his wife, Janice, reside in the beautiful village of Ayr, along with their three active daughters. Rob is sports addict, and is known to enjoy a round of golf when he can.

Rob is a very active volunteer in his community. He previously chaired the Centre for the Community Group and the Live and Play capital campaign which raised over $2 million towards the construction of a new multi-use community facility that opened in 2011.
Kitchener Personal Injury Lawyer - Doug O'Toole

Doug O'Toole

Doug is a key member of the litigation team, primarily focusing on personal injury litigation. Doug is able to draw on his prior work experience to assist personal injury clients. This experience includes work as a clinical kinesiologist with a rehabilitation firm and as an autopsy technician with the medical examiner's office in Alberta. Doug is also trained in the assessment and performance of functional capacity evaluations.

Doug obtained his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. After working in private industry for several years, he returned to school and obtained his law degree from the University of Western Ontario, where he was also a member of the winning moot team at the Niagara International Law Moot. Doug was called to the bar in July, 2005. He is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Waterloo Law Association.

Doug originally hails from Barrie, Ontario, but he has put down roots in Waterloo where he lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their two young children, Adrian and Bronwyn. Doug is a sports enthusiast who now enjoys swimming for personal exercise and family entertainment.
Kitchener Waterloo Personal Injury Lawyer - Dianne DeJong

Dianne deJong

Dianne has been practicing as a litigation law clerk since 1989, when she graduated from the Legal Administration Program at Durham College of Applied Arts and Technology. Most of her time has been spent in insurance defence and personal injury litigation. Dianne currently specializes in Accident Benefits working directly with our clients, the insurance companies and health care providers ensuring that our clients receive their full health and rehabilitation benefits. She also brings her litigation experience to help assist our legal team in resolving accident benefit disputes with our clients’ insurance companies. Currently, Dianne is continuing to upgrade her qualifications and experience through the Ontario Brain Injury Association, recently successfully completing the level 1 program “Rehabilitation for Children with Acquired Brain Injury.

When she is not working or studying, Dianne enjoys spending her time with her husband Henry and their two active children.

Patricia Galbraith

Patricia is a legal assistant at our firm. Patricia is the “voice” of the firm as she handles the communication and primary reception responsibilities at the firm. Patricia also plays an important role in maintaining order with the large amount of documentation that we receive on a daily basis. Our firm incorporates updated technology and legal software in the operation of our personal injury practice to ensure our clients continue to obtain exceptional service.

We employ scanning technology and all reports, documentation and correspondence received at our firm is scanned. This allows us to maintain a high level of organization for our clients’ files. Scanning also provides the added benefits of allowing us to email documents to other parties or provide documents in a CD format, thereby reducing the amount of paper necessary to photocopy documents. Scanning allows us to easily search key terms and phrases in our clients’ medical documents.

The scanning technology is just one example of how our firm assists staff and lawyers by allowing them to maximize available resources and improve productivity. This allows us more time to focus and strategize on a client’s matter.

Patricia also provides assistance to Dianne deJong in helping clients with their Accident Benefit claims. Patricia works to assist our clients with obtaining diagnosis and treatment through available medical benefit plans including motor vehicle Accident Benefit programs.

Norma Maus

Norma is a legal secretary who brings a strong background in client service. Norma provides litigation support to the personal injury team. Norma demonstrates exceptional client service on behalf of the firm. This dedication and work on behalf of clients is reflected in the high standards she maintains in her work product and attention to detail.
